Financial aid offices received their latest student loan default rates in late September.
The Department of Education announced the distribution of the FY 2023 official cohort default rate (CDR) notification packages to schools enrolled in the Electronic Cohort Default Rate (eCDR) process via the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailbox. The package included a cover letter and a loan record detail report.
A school not enrolled in eCDR may download their CDR information from the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
Schools wishing to appeal their FY 2023 official cohort default rate can do so starting October 6 through the eCDR Appeals website.
Schools with additional questions can contact the Default Management Center by email at fsa.schools.default.management@ed.gov.
