While financial aid professionals are in the midst of dealing with implanting new regulatory changes in addition to their usual workload for the upcoming school year, the deadline for another important responsibility isn’t far away.
In a July 20 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education reminded schools about the availability of the 2027-28 FISAP on the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) website. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Thursday, October 1.
Included in the Electronic Announcement are a number of general reporting reminders. For schools with a Federal Perkins Loan portfolio, several of the reminders address the Perkins Loan program.
In an earlier Electronic Announcement published in May, the Department outlined updates to the FISAP and instructions and included links to the final 2026–27 FISAP Form, Instructions, and Desk Reference and 2027–28 Technical Reference documents.
