
Applying for scholarships is a smart way to pay for a college education.
Scholarships enable students to pay for an education and avoid student loan debt. In addition, scholarships are recognition of a student’s accomplishments – something that can be included on a resume or lead to other opportunities.
Students may want to consider applying for some of the following scholarships programs:
US Foods Scholars Program – US Foods has established a scholarship for students pursing a degree in culinary arts, hospitality, or related field and will provide up to 20 one-time awards of $20,000 each. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age when the awards are disbursed in August, a legal U.S. resident or person authorized to work in the U.S. and the District of Columbia, and plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at a two-year or four-year college for the upcoming academic year. Related degrees include culinary science, baking and pastry arts, nutrition and food business management, and hospitality management. Recipients must agree to participate in at least one professional development opportunity provided by US Foods. Deadline: May 11
CLA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program – The CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) Foundation is awarding a one-time $15,000 scholarship to future leaders in finance, accounting, business, and other emerging areas of study at either the undergraduate or graduate level. A list of the emerging areas of study is included on the scholarship page. Up to 69 awards will be made. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates, current college undergraduates or graduate students in the U.S. who plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or graduate school for the upcoming academic year, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Deadline: May 19
Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship – The Brave of Heart fund is providing scholarships to assist students pursuing an associate or Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and demonstrate a commitment to impacting healthcare outcomes in the communities where they will work. Awards will range from $2,500 to $10,000. Please note that this is the final year for the Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship. Applicants must be a current undergraduate student who will earn their associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing by September 2027 and plan to enroll full-time or part-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the 2026-27 academic year. Additional requirements include a minimum 2.0 GPA, be in good standing according to school policy, and demonstrated financial need. Deadline: May 19
