Tip of the Week

Achieving the dream; the greatness of financial aid

A time to celebrate.

Just in time for the nation’s 250th anniversary, the NASFAA conference will be in Washington, D.C., next week and celebrating its own 60th anniversary.

The conference, of course, is an important time to get the latest information on the many regulatory and policy issues surrounding financial aid, and there’s more than enough of that to cover the four days of the conference.

But the conference is also a time to recognize all that is good.

With all that you’ve been through in the last few years, many of us in the industry have been discouraged – leaving us wondering if we entered the wrong career field. This has been a tough time for financial aid and for higher education.

But we are in a good position to deal with all the issues we face because of those who came before us and laid the groundwork, enabling us to do the good work and fight the good fight.

Through our associations, we’ve worked together for a common cause – to help students achieve a better life through education. It is a principle worth fighting for.

And for that we should celebrate.
