2025-26 FAFSA reminder campaign underway

Most of us need a nudge every once in a while, a little reminder to do something important like, maybe, completing the FAFSA.

Students who completed FAFSAs in the last couple of years are receiving reminders from the Department of Education that the 2025-26 FAFSA is ready for them to complete. And the Department is encouraging schools to join in the reminder campaign.

In a recent Electronic Announcement, Federal Student Aid stated that February 3-11, 2025, emails were sent to 2023–24 and 2024–25 FAFSA filers and parents of dependent 2023–24 and 2024–25 FAFSA filers who had not yet submitted a 2025–26 FAFSA form.

The intent of the campaign is to remind students and parents that the 2025-26 FASFA is available and should be completed electronically via fafsa.gov for anyone planning to attend school between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.

The announcement includes the email text that was used in the reminder campaign and can be used by schools in their own communications.

Mapping Your Future offers several resources to assist students and families with the FAFSA process, including our Get ready for the 2025-26 FAFSA by taking these two steps flyer.
