Tip of the Week

For your kindness

If it weren’t for the kindness of friends and strangers, I am not sure where I would be.

When I think about what I am thankful for this holiday season, I am aware of the many times someone helped me. Much of that help has come from family, friends, and colleagues. It is easy to offer my thanks, and perhaps I should more often than I do.

And yet, I am also aware that I have been the beneficiary of kindness from people I don’t know. Maybe they work behind the scenes or toil in other ways to ensure I have what I need. Or perhaps they have ignored some mistake I made, giving me grace and forgiveness.

For those of you working in financial aid and education, thank you for all you do. You have done so much for others, including myself, to advance our lives and give us all hope for the future.

That is something on which I will always depend.
