Tip of the Week
Just give it time
As years go by, a lot changes with time.
And, yet there are great works of art, literature, or entertainment that have endured and are relevant to us today.
Take, for example, the 70’s sitcom, Barney Miller. Okay, I know – some critics probably don’t include it on any list of great classics.
But what struck me when I watched the show recently was how it addressed current events of almost 50 years ago and how some of those issues – inflation, recession, riots, the environment – we face today. A couple of the episodes even addressed student loans.
But the show wasn’t really about the current issues of the day or even how the characters in the show reacted to those events. It was about people and how by working together they come to share a bond with one another.
No matter what we are going through in financial aid or in the world right now, that bond is what holds us together and why we understand and support each other. It’s something most financial aid professionals experience with one another every day.
Those relationships – those bonds with one another – will always stand the test of time.
