Schools participating in the TEACH Grant program will want to make note of an important upcoming deadline for the 2024-25 award year.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced that the closeout deadline for the 2024-25 award year for the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant is September 30, 2025. This means that all school data must be received and accepted by that date in order to be included in the school’s final Ending Cash Balance for the year.
A school can officially confirm closeout through the School Balance Confirmation page on the COD website for the 2024–25 award year. After the closeout deadline, schools will be billed for remaining balances owed to the Department of Education.
The Department of Education will send Balance Notification emails to the Financial Aid Administrator and President to notify schools of their current Ending Cash Balance and to provide general information about the closeout process.
The Electronic Announcement also includes a Q&A about the closeout process.
Schools with questions or needing assistance with their TEACH closeout can contact the Federal Student Aid (FSA) Partner and School Relations Center at 1-800-848-0978 or by emailing CODSupport@ed.gov.
