Tip of the Week

The power of your words

We appreciate you.

It was how the clerk at a local auto service ended the conversation when I called recently to schedule an appointment. Just three simple words, but they stuck with me the entire day.

She could’ve ended the call with, “Thanks, see you next week.” or something similar. However, those three words added a little extra to a routine call.

If you work in financial aid, you are probably already skilled in customer service. But as you assist students and families with routine and not so routine questions, remember the power of your words that will let your students and families know you appreciate them.

By the way, we appreciate you and everything you do every day for students and families—especially during this challenging 2024-25 year.
