Financial aid professionals know that awarding Pell Grants and Federal Work-Study may seem easy on the surface but gets complicated in the details.

To provide training or a refresher for financial aid professionals, Federal Student Aid (FSA) will offer a series of Wednesday Webinars on Pell Grants and Work-Study.

FSA announced four live webinars covering Federal Pell Grant formulas and the Federal Work-Study program that will be held in May, June, and July 2026. Participants can ask questions by typing them into the chat during the webinar, and a live Q&A session follows the presentation.

Registration is not required for the webinars as they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 5,000 attendees. The webinars will be hosted on the Zoom platform.

Upcoming webinars include:

Awarding With Pell Grant Formula 1

  • May 6 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. (ET)
  • Discussion will include when Pell Grant Formula 1 is required, how enrollment intensity affects Pell Grant awards, and what schools need to know to ensure accurate Pell Grant calculations.
  • Zoom information, including the link, is provided in the announcement.

Awarding With Pell Grant Formula 3

  • May 27 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. (ET)
  • Discussion will include the key principles for awarding Pell Grant Formula 3 for students in nonstandard term programs, including how academic calendars, academic years, payment periods, enrollment intensity, term structure, and instructional time affect Pell Grant awarding.

  • Zoom information, including the link, is provided in the announcement.

Federal Work-Study Program

  • July 8 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. (ET)
