The Department of Education is among the federal offices closed for the Columbus Day federal holiday on Monday, October 12.
The October 6 Electronic Announcement states that the Federal Student Aid (FSA) offices and most contact centers will be closed on October 12. All FSA websites will be operational on the holiday.
The following additional information was provided in the announcement:
FPS Help Desk –The FPS Help Desk contact center will be open on the holiday.
FPS – The FAFSA Processing System will accept data on Monday, October 12, but will not process data or send ISIRs until Tuesday, October 13.
COD System – COD will accept and process data and send back responses/acknowledgements on Monday, October 12. Schools will not, however, be able to receive any federal funds on October 12. Any requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will not be processed until Tuesday, October 13.
Mapping Your Future offices will be open on Monday, October 12.
