Financial aid professionals will now see loan amounts to the exact penny when viewing information on the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).

The Department of Education provided a May 7 update to an Electronic Announcement published on April 24 that addressed NSLDS processing. The Department stated that in order to align with new federal loan servicer reporting requirements, they have changed how financial data is formatted and displayed in NSLDS.

Starting April 26, the amount fields in NSLDS have been revised to display amounts with two decimal places. The display updates better reflect reported data; however, the underlying loan limit calculations remain the same.

It was also noted that some fields do not display cents and they are working to correct the display.
