Financial aid professionals can prepare now for fall reporting and application process

Financial aid professionals who want to get a head start on preparing for the 2027-28 Fiscal Operations Report for 2025-26 and Application to Participate for 2027-28 (FISAP), draft materials are now available.

In a May 7 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education provided draft versions of the FISAP, including instructions and technical reference materials.

The final 2027-28 FISAP form and materials will be available in August 2026 and needs to be submitted by October 1.

In order to improve the user experience, reduce time required to complete the form, and minimize the chance of errors, the 2027-28 FISAP will have several fields that will be pre-populated. The announcement includes a list of changes to the FISAP form and to the instructions.
