Schools wanting to reduce student loan delinquency and default have several training opportunities to enhance their default prevention programs.

As part of their ongoing efforts to provide default prevention resources to schools, the Department of Education recently hosted two webinars, covering the following topics:

  • NSLDS reporting tools for default prevention
  • Institutional strategies for success in default management.

The recordings, transcripts, and handouts for these webinars are available on the FSA Training Center in the School Eligibility section of Recorded Webinars area.

An earlier webinar recording on how CDRs are calculated, the CDR cycle, and challenges and appeals is also available at the FSA Training Center.

The FSA Training Center also includes a self-paced learning track on CDRs and default prevention and management. The two courses, designed to be taken together, will help schools understand how CDRs work, why they matter, and how schools can use data, borrower outreach, and operational practices to support repayment success and manage default risk.

Questions about the training offerings can be sent to helpdesk.fsatraining@ed.gov.
