
Financial aid professionals can now access supporting materials for the 2026–27 Federal Student Aid Handbook.
In an August 14 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL), the Department of Education announced the availability of the appendices, which include the following:
- Appendix A: Orientation to Online Resources
- Appendix B: Required Actions When a Student Dies
- Appendix C: The FSA Assessments
- Appendix D: Other School Reporting Requirements
- Appendix E: Institutional Reporting and Disclosure Requirements
- Appendix F: Higher Education Act of 1965 Table of Contents
Information previously in the FSA Assessments is now part of training that can be found on the FSA Training Center. Please review the Basics course or the relevant learning track for each topic, including the resources at the end of each course.
The Federal Student Aid Handbook consists of the Application and Verification Guide, nine numbered volumes, and appendices.
