EDExpress for Windows users have new service releases available for 2025-26 and 2026-27 that resolve software issues and update enrollment-related fields.

In a July 1 Electronic Announcement, Federal Student Aid announced new service releases for EDExpress for Windows 2025–26, Release 2.0 and EDExpress for Windows 2026-27, Release 2.0.

Updates in the service releases include:

  • Both service releases update the Direct Loan module to either suppress (for 2025–26) or require (for 2026–27) reporting of the “Enrollment Status Effective Date” value as a disbursement-level data element.
  • The EDExpress 2026–27 service release also adds new enrollment status values for students who are on a leave of absence or have withdrawn.

A number of software issues were resolved for both years as outlined in the announcement.

Users must have EDExpress 2026–27, Release 2.0 installed before running the service release file, which can be downloaded from the Software and Other Tools page of the Knowledge Center website.

The Electronic Announcement includes information on downloading and running the EDExpress Service Release file as well as some additional tips and guidance.
