Schools seeking approval from the Department of Education to offer eligible workforce programs can now access the required certification form.
In a July 1 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education (the Department) announced that the State Workforce Pell Certification Form is now available for eligible institutions seeking approval from the Department.
As part of the certification process, the governor, or their designee, will be required to complete the certification form, which includes each eligible workforce program for which the school is seeking approval. The governor then provides the completed form to the school. The school then uploads the certification form into its Application to Participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (E-App) as a part of the program approval process. As part of the Department’s record retention requirements, the school must keep a copy of the certification document.
Policy-related questions about the information provided in the announcement should be sent to OB3SchoolQuestions@ed.gov.
