
Financial aid professionals who are working hard to implement the latest final regulations now have some resources available from the Department of Education.
In a May 20 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced resources available for financial aid professionals and other partners to aid in the implementation of the final regulations through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.
The resources available include:
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – This living document on student loan reforms is available at https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-center/topics/one-big-beautiful-bill-act-information and will include new and updated FAQs as they become available.
Email Tool – Financial aid professions and other partners have a new e-mail tool for submitting policy-related questions to the Department about the changes in the Act and the newly published regulations. Questions can be submitted to ob3schoolquestions@ed.gov and, after being reviewed by Department staff, responses will be posted to the FAQ document.
Virtual Office Hours, Webinars, and Town Hall Meetings – Virtual office hours and a new series of webinars on the regulatory changes will be offered from late-May through late-July. A schedule for these events is included in the announcement.
The Department will host an in-person town hall at the U.S. Department of Education headquarters in Washington, D.C. that will be include senior officials and subject-matter experts. More information on this event will be provided in the coming weeks.
