New resources for those seeking guidance in implementing
Working Families Tax Cuts Act regulations

Just when you have the new regulations all figured out, a new situation arises – making you question all you thought you knew.

That’s the circumstance for many financial aid professionals who are working hard to implement the Working Families Tax Cuts Act (previously known as federal budget reconciliation or the One Big Beautiful Bill).

To provide more assistance and hopefully answer some of the questions, the Department of Education is offering additional resources.

In a July 14 update to a May 21 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced that they have extended their virtual office hours with three new sessions beginning on July 16. Virtual office hours are available from 3-4 p.m. (Eastern) on July 16, 23, and 30.

In addition, a new date for the Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and final regulations on earnings accountability webinar has been announced. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, July 29 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Eastern). The Zoom information is included in the announcement.
