Financial aid professionals now have Learning Tracks available to them that include updated 2026-27 content.
In a July 9 Dear Colleague Letter, Federal Student Aid (FSA) announced that the Learning Tracks in the FSA Training Center are updated with 2026–27 content as of July 3, 2026.
Learning Tracks, which are award year specific, consist of short, focused courses on a single subject. For 2026-27, there are nine categories with 32 different tracks. Financial aid professionals are encouraged to complete training yearly in order to keep current on topics. In addition, 25 of the courses have been revamped to include new interactive learning activities.
The FSA Basic Training for New Staff training has also been updated with 2026-27 content. The course is geared towards newly hired, entry-level financial aid staff, as well as school officials from outside the financial aid office.
The Learning Tracks and FSA Basic Training For New Staff cover the basic information about the changes included in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and subsequent rulemaking. A future announcement will outline information about additional in-depth self-paced online courses on related topics.
